Yesterday we were out at the Rai Valley A & P show. I love a country fair.
A lovely, unpretentious, rural event.
The weather was perfect, strong sun and a cool breeze.
The whole area turns out.
The antique hay baling steam engine put on a display, puffing away.
My idea of a perfect day out.
More to come.
I so agree with you that the smaller agricultural shows are so much better. It looked and sounded like a wonderful day :-)
ReplyDeletefor some reason I was drawn to the picture of the hay. It has a kind of ''Englishness'' about it....an English country scene. You're definitely filling your days with new adventures Jan!
ReplyDeleteKaren, the machine came from Leeds......about 1909, pre WW1
DeleteI've never seen ponies that small. I look forward to all of your reports abroad.
ReplyDeleteMiniature horses are all the rage here., it seems.
DeleteI got all confused, wondering how the weather was so fine in Toronto! Then I saw this was New Zealand--looks very interesting!
ReplyDeleteA fine assortment of hats on show!
ReplyDeleteI think you are sitting there in the lovely warmth and posting this pictures chortling all the while at the fate of us poor souls left behind in the frigid north. You're a mean, mean woman.
ReplyDeleteahhhh.....thats what I understand.....he,he, hee.
DeleteSorry MA, does it help to tell you ferocious rain is expected on Sunday.
