I expect you are wondering why I have not posted about my Hermes scarves lately......or my Liberty scarf collection....or my Jacqmar collection. The truth is I have not found any since the spring!!
Oh, I have toddled around the thrifts and come up with this suitably autumnal quilt TBM ( to be mended)
A rug for the cabin, commercial, but I like it anyway. Again, suitably autumnal.
And I must say I was thrilled with this bag of Hunterdon yarn. Not sure what I will make with it but I am am sure I can find room in my stash baskets.
But no scarves for my collections.
Have you checked out the two National Thrift stores in the city? They're two of our favourite haunts. Don't know if they have *your* scarves, but they might be worth having a look at just in case!ReplyDelete
where are they??? suppose I could go online . My sister is arriving on Sunday, she loves a good day out at the thrifts.Delete
Had a quick peek at your Hermes scarf collection - beautiful!ReplyDelete
I had one whipped out from under my very nose by a canny tennager this summer at a vide grenier. French, tres chic, she certainly knew a Hermes scarf from all the polyester offerings on the stall. From memory, it was the carriages design. Sigh...
i hate that French teen....I must say I can nearly always spot an Hermes right away, though I have been surprised a couple of times.Delete
I saw a Hermes scarf in a glass case in a Depot Vente a few months ago and, tantalisingly, only a little bit of the price tag was visible and it said '10' but, when I asked them to unlock the cabinet, my hopes were confounded as there was another '0' on the end. Merde!ReplyDelete
those 'depot vente's ' know what they are doing.Delete
You always find such gorgeous textiles. I love tartan, it feels especially cosy when it's cold.ReplyDelete
