With my arm in a sling it is pretty difficult ( as well as painful) to lift, fold, iron etc new items to list in my etsy shops. Heaven knows I have enough.
Vintage ties I can manage, but they are all listed now.
A friend was coerced into groping the back of a cupboard to pull out these shoe boxes of lacy bits......I had not forgotten them, just never got around to retrieving them.
I can cope with light pieces of lace and have enjoyed sorting, grouping and listing this week.
Would feel better if I were not so bloody fed up with etsy and their constant tests. I realize that only a small portion of buyers and sellers are involved, but this latest test of 'hiding' shipping costs until checkout is pissing me off.
The 'shipping and policies' tab is still there, if a potential customer clicked on, saw no shipping prices , they would conclude I was unprofessional or lazy or dishonest. Canada Post shipping is high enough as it is, I don't need this roadblock as well.
If anyone has a moment, could they click on one of my shops and let me know if my shipping prices are showing
foulardfantastique ( always free shipping)
many thanks.
It's really annoying me too, these Etsy tests. I've just checked your first shop (btw the links from this post arent working) and its still only showing the policies, no shipping costs, same as mine don't show either. You are right, it looks like we are being sly or lazy not actually giving prices, so it must put people off as we all like to know the total cost of an item so we can weigh up whether we really want to purchase it.
ReplyDeleteI've also been one of the shops where my header photo goes missing, as does my shop blurb, so the little bit you get to explain your philosophy and what makes you different is lost if they ever decide to go with that. It looks so boring and amateursih, and uninviting without the personal touch of each shop. I know they say its only you that sees it like that, not other viewers, but that doesnt stand for the shipping prices bit as I still cant see yours or mine!

P.S Jan, sorry to hear about your arm, hope it gets better soon, and sorry for the long comment!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gill.....its INSANE
DeleteThink I have fixed the linky thing,,,thanks Gill.
DeleteThe links are working now Jan - but I'm afraid I have NO idea of what to look for in the shop to know if the shipping costs are showing. Not much help, am I!!
ReplyDeleteNo shipping costs showing Jan...I'm a bit sick of buying on Etsy these days ...it's back to Ebay for me ....they run a tighter ship for buyers!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the effort.
Deletewhen I went to your second shop, I added the gfg quilt to my basket and it showed shipping costs of $20 to Canada. but it didn't show until that.
ReplyDeletethanks Brenda.
DeleteYour scarf shop is showing free shipping even whe I add one to my cart but your other two are showing charges in the listing . Your pink slip fo example would cost 12 usd to France
ReplyDeletethank Lynn. Now at 4 who cannot see, 2 who can.
DeleteI can see the shipping costs in Gillyflowers shop too (first commenter) so it's a little strange. Stupid question and I know I'm stating the bleedin' obvious, but you are clicking on the Policies and Shipping button under your listing aren't you?
ReplyDeleteYes, it seems these are rotating, random tests. My main concern ( and yours) is that customers who may be in the test will not realize shipping is only shown once items are in the cart. Thats a bit sleazy I think
ReplyDeleteyou do have some beautiful laces Jan. You must take it easy though, frustrating as it may be. As for the little rectangles over on my blog....I don't think you have seen them before but you may have seen something similar.
