My magnolia, now taller than the house
has just started to bloom - look at the date -
when another cold spell descended. Sorry the picture is blurry but it was pouring with rain when I nipped out.
That it for another year I suppose.
Think I have seen this scenario befor.
Waking up to ice pellets hitting the window this morning was not a happy occasion - so I guess it stands to reason that your beautiful tree would be a casualty. So sorry!
ReplyDeleteIt's not much better here in Belgium. So sad that your beautiful Magnolia should sufffer! xxx
ReplyDeleteYou would think trees would develop a memory and start blooming later the following year wouldn't you? I have two magnolias that are still virtually just twigs stuck in the ground but, by the time they are big and blooming, maybe they will have 'evolved' to take the weather into account ;)
ReplyDeleteDon't count on it.
DeleteWe have a lot of those trees here in Florida too! They smell so heavenly! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteI bet yours are not all brown with the petals on the ground
