new tricks

You can't teach an old dog new tricks. I think that sums me up.
So what did I find at the thrift stores last week?

Three more Liberty scarves for my vast collection.
The first  paisley in beautiful pinks and eau de nil......but....printed in a circle....love it and am wearing it as I type.

Two more old ones with my favorite sort of label, both a small foulard print.

Rummaging around in the garage mini- warehouse I unearthed, under some tablecloths,  a whole pile of vintage gents scarves, about 25.  Good! some are up in my etsy shop already.

Now, who would throw out a vibrant, unfinished Ehrman  needlepoint kit? Do you know how much they cost??

For $1.99 how could I leave it?   I am very tempted to finish it myself.

  1. Ooh, I think that silvery grey one is my favourite Jan. Have fun if you decide to give in to temptation and complete those shoes.

  2. Loving these luscious goodies. What a dapper Dan the gent that wore these gems is or must have been.

I used to needlepoint ALL the time. You're right---who would just throw it away? They were expensive hand painted canvases as I recall.

You have some fab-O shops that you visit to always turn up these amazing textiles. I love those older Liberty prints.

Hope you are well. I'm reading "Shooting Victoria" about the many attempts on the Queen's life. What about you?

Would love to go to that market.

  4. Wonderful finds! I think I might just have to succumb to going to a few yard sales over the summer to see what I might be able to score. Not that I need anything!!
